| The Rocky the
Rock Star stores are provided by Cafepress, which
is a US based company. Cafepress will produce and
ship the goods, and handle all of the payments.
Any product quality or payment queries should be
taken up direct with them. My responsibility is with
the graphics... I have ordered a couple of items
to check how well the graphic prints out. The
first order wasn't as I had hoped, the quality of
the products were fine but the colours weren't
quite right, so I queried it with Cafepress, and
they despatched a replacement order without any
fuss. The second items were of good quality, with
the correct colours and I'm very happy with them.
Seasonal products
- Cafepress offers seasonal products which are
only available for a short period. I will add
them to the stores when they become available.
Products available include
:- t-shirts,
mugs, underwear, hats, mouse mat, teddy bear,
throw pillow, ladies track suit, badges, magnets,
etc....

FAQs
Why
have you set up these shops?
This site is on 'paid for' hosting,
and I would like to be able to continue to keep
it on an add free service. The items in the shops
have small markups of between $0.50 and $1.00. I
have kept the markups small for two reasons, I
don't want to be greedy, and with shipping costs
from the US being expensive, the lower price
keeps them reasonable.
How
much will they cost in sterling?
If you were to order a t-shirt for $16.99, this
would translate as....
Goods $16.99 + shipping $7 (approx) = $23.99 x
2/3 = £16.00 approximately.
The US exchange rate generally fluctuates between
1.3 and 1.7, so the sterling value is normally
roughly two thirds of the dollar value. (Though
at the moment the exchange rate is approximately
1.8, so the cost would be just over half in
sterling. 30th

What
happens if the shops do well and the costs are
more than covered?
If, by some miracle, these shops do
take off and cover all of the current costs
easily, I will reduce the markups and upgrade
services for the site. There is also a premium
shop, which has a monthly charge, where you can
combine shops into one. The free version that I'm
using only allows one of each product in the
shop, so I'll have to set up seperate shops for
each design. Plus, the premium shops have
additional products available. There is also the
cost of web design programs to take into account.
I would like to be able to invest in the latest
version of Dreamweaver, but at around £200 for
the basic package I can't currently justify
buying it.
If you have any
more questions about these shops then please email me.
